Agentic AI is starting to change how work gets done in Facilities Management.
So far, most AI has supported individual tasks like scheduling, maintenance planning and helpdesk triage...
Now, it’s moving a step further. Agentic AI can carry out entire workflows on its own, from identifying an issue through to assigning a contractor and seeing the job through to completion.
This shift means roles across FM will evolve. Frontline teams will need to be more proactive and digitally capable, using real-time data to guide decisions rather than relying on fixed routines. At the same time, many coordination and admin-heavy tasks will become automated, pushing managers towards more strategic and problem-solving responsibilities.
We’ve already seen strong adoption of AI in FM, particularly in areas like predictive maintenance and energy optimisation. The next phase is about connecting these capabilities into end-to-end processes.
