This month our CEO Paul Connolly was interviewed by the charity Mindful Employer Leeds to allow them to gain insight into how one small business has prioritised staff wellbeing during the pandemic. As a Mindful Employer, it is really important to us to be able to share our knowledge and promote healthy work practices we use to assist other companies in supporting their staff. To find out how we have kept up team morale and ensured everybody’s safety over the past 14 months, please read on.

I joined 300 North through the Kickstart Scheme in a Recruitment Administration role as when I was looking for opportunities I had heard a lot about recruitment companies and thought I would like to try this type of work, especially after doing research on 300 North. I decided to stay on with 300 North full-time after my 6 months on the scheme was up due to the team around me. Everyone is great to get along with and I felt like I was part of the furniture within a short amount of time. The transition to my current role as a Business Administrator was very smoot, which is great as that made it stress-free!

I'm originally from Barnsley, a very big dog person (but nothing against cats!) and I love listening to music from Elvis and the Beatles to Drake.

My first job was a Yard Porter at an auction house in Barnsley focusing on contractors plant and construction equipment, grounds maintenance equipment, agricultural machinery, vehicles, and light industrial equipment. I have worked in bars throughout university and then come to get some experience in recruitment with 300 North through the Kickstart scheme.

If You Won The Lottery What Would You Buy?

If not a house, a Mercedes G-class would be first thing I buy if I win the lottery!

I have joined 300 North to support our team in the North East & Scotland in finding temporary and permanent candidates within the facilities management market.

I’m a mam of two beautiful kids so when I’m not ferrying them to all their activities, I’m at work. I’ve worked in the Recruitment Industry for 16 years (feeling old now) covering Trades and Labour, M&E and Construction Management. I love a new challenge and being part of a team so I’m looking forward to working with everyone at 300 North.

Tell Us About Your Professional Background

I started my career in Construction Recruitment when I was 19 doing Trades and Labour and subsequently worked in Security doing Business Development for temporary security solutions.

What Do You Like Doing In Your Spare Time?

I love days out spending time with my family, we recently got a paddleboard so plenty time at the beach practising not to fall off!
I also love interior design, lots of shopping and the odd night out when I get a chance.

If You Won The Lottery What Would You Buy?

If I won the lottery I would buy a big house abroad so me and my family could make lots of memories in the sun.
