Health & Safety Officer

Permanent

Glasgow (Hybrid Working)

£35,000 + £3,500 Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

300 North are partnering with a well-established national organisation to recruit a Health & Safety Officer to join their growing Estates team based in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who enjoys building relationships, supporting operational teams, and making a genuine difference across a diverse property portfolio. The role offers a fantastic balance of office, home and site-based working, with travel across Scotland supporting a wide range of residential and supported living services.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Estates, you will play a key role in promoting a positive health and safety culture across a large multi-site estate. Working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders, you'll provide practical advice, carry out audits and inspections, support compliance initiatives and help ensure safe environments for both employees and the people they support.

This is a varied role combining operational Health & Safety with stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Health & Safety audits and inspections across sites throughout Scotland.
  • Provide practical Health & Safety advice and support to operational managers and service teams.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support action planning.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Support Fire Safety, Manual Handling and other Health & Safety initiatives.
  • Contribute towards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and CHAS compliance.
  • Produce reports and present Health & Safety information to senior management.
  • Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the organisation.
  • Build strong working relationships with managers and frontline teams.

About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively and can build strong relationships across a multi-site organisation.

You will ideally have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or be working towards it)
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety role
  • Experience carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments
  • Good knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland

Experience within social care, healthcare, housing, facilities management or another multi-site environment would be highly advantageous.

Working Pattern

  • Hybrid working
  • 3 days per week in the Glasgow office or travelling to sites
  • 2 days working from home
  • Regular travel across Scotland with occasional overnight stays
  • Travel days count as office days

What's on Offer

  • £35,000 basic salary
  • £3,500 annual car allowance
  • Hybrid working
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Genuine opportunity to progress as the Estates function continues to grow

If you are a proactive Health & Safety professional looking to join a supportive organisation where you can make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
