Lead Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical Bias)

Location: Bristol 

Salary: £39,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

Holiday: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays

Contract: Permanent

Are you ready to step up and lead a team of engineers in a rewarding and stable environment? We're looking for a Lead Engineer to join a well-established Building Services company in Bristol. This role works across a group of schools in Bristol and offers the opportunity to take ownership of maintenance operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Please note: An Enhanced DBS check will be required due to the nature of the site.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and supervise a team of engineers, ensuring smooth delivery of both reactive and planned maintenance.
• Manage KPIs and SLAs, making sure all targets and objectives are met.
• Oversee compliance activities including L8, Gas, Fire regulations, asset management, and PPM schedules.
• Ensure all work meets Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors to ensure top-quality service.

What We're Looking For:

• HNC or HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• Ability to organise, prioritise, and multitask in a fast-paced school environment.
• Proven experience issuing planned and reactive works, liaising with clients, and working with subcontractors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, plus an understanding of COSHH, confined spaces, and L8 regulations.
