Role: Engineering Manager - Prestigious Commercial Estate

Location: Central London

Salary: £67,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering delivery across a prestigious commercial estate in the heart of London.

Our client is a leading global provider of integrated facilities management, engineering and building services, delivering technical FM solutions across complex and high-profile property portfolios.

This is a senior operational position with responsibility for the engineering team, technical compliance, contract performance, client relationships and the successful delivery of planned and reactive maintenance.

The Role

As Engineering Manager, you will take overall responsibility for engineering operations across the contract, ensuring a consistently high standard of service while maintaining strong relationships with the client.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing the engineering team, including performance, development, appraisals, recruitment and succession planning
  

   

• Ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is completed effectively and within contractual KPIs and SLAs
  

   

• Maintaining high standards of statutory, technical and Health & Safety compliance
  

   

• Managing subcontractor performance and holding regular performance reviews
  

   

• Monitoring contractual and operational performance and producing monthly reports
  

   

• Supporting contract P&L performance, budgets and financial reporting
  

   

• Identifying additional works and ensuring quotations and delivery are managed effectively
  

   

• Attending regular strategic and operational meetings with the client
  

   

• Ensuring plant, equipment and building services are maintained to the highest standards
  

   

• Developing training and development plans across the engineering team
  

   

• Ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained while balancing operational requirements and cost
  

   

• Providing leadership, coaching and technical guidance to the engineering team
  

   

• Presenting contractual, operational and financial information to senior management and client stakeholders
  

   

• Driving continuous improvement and maintaining a strong customer-focused culture across the contract
  

   

About You

We are looking for an experienced engineering or technical services professional with a strong background within Facilities Management and Building Services.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience managing engineering services within a commercial FM environment
  

   

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services
  

   

• Experience leading and developing engineering teams
  

   

• Good commercial awareness, including budgets, P&L and additional works
  

   

• Experience working to contractual KPIs and SLAs
  

   

• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
  

   

• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant ACOPs, Health & Safety legislation, building control requirements, fire safety and environmental controls
  

   

• The confidence to present operational and financial information at senior/client level
  

   

• A relevant degree or HND-level qualification would be advantageous
  

   

• A Standard DBS dated within the last 12 months, or the ability to meet the required vetting requirements
