We are recruiting for an experienced M&E Site Manager with a strong electrical bias to join a Building Services contractor delivering a substantial M&E package on a major new leisure and visitor attraction currently under construction in Swansea.
This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in a high-profile, landmark development for South Wales, incorporating multiple buildings, visitor facilities, specialist infrastructure and extensive external areas.
The project is already underway and offers an excellent 14-16 months of continuity for the right freelance Site Manager.
The Role
Working as part of the site delivery team, you will take responsibility for overseeing M&E works across a large and geographically spread-out construction site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating M&E installation works on site
- Taking particular responsibility for the electrical elements of the programme
- Coordinating electrical and mechanical subcontractors
- Monitoring programme, progress and quality of installation
- Reviewing RAMS and ensuring works are delivered safely
- Managing site Health & Safety
- Conducting site inspections and maintaining quality standards
- Identifying and resolving technical and coordination issues
- Liaising with Project Managers, subcontractors and other site teams
- Supporting testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Maintaining accurate site records and progress reporting
Due to the size and layout of the development, this is a very site-active position involving significant movement between different work areas, so candidates should be comfortable working across a large site throughout the day.
About You
We are looking for an established M&E Site Manager - Electrical bias with:
- A strong electrical background
- Proven experience managing M&E installations on construction projects
- Good technical understanding of electrical building services
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
- Strong Health & Safety knowledge
- SMSTS
- First Aid
- CSCS card
- Good communication and site management skills
- Ability to work effectively within a busy project delivery team
Experience working on large, complex or multi-building developments would be particularly advantageous.
