As the world continues to navigate the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, we want to provide reassurance to our clients, candidates and our wider network in the FM & Construction sectors, that 300 North remain fully committed to supporting you.

The team at 300 North like to do our bit for the community. Every year we take on a new challenge to raise money for a local charity or one that is close to the hearts of our team. Throughout 2020, to support our wellness and charitable aims, we are raising money through a number of sport and health based initiatives to support Smart Works Leeds.

The Smart Works mission is to help unemployed women regain the confidence they need to find success at job interview, secure employment and transform their lives. The service harnesses the transformative power of clothes and confidence. By providing interview coaching and donations of high quality interview clothing, the Smart Works charity are able to change the trajectory of another woman's story.

On the 02 September Carolyn Taylor from Walking the Talk consultancy published an article in Facilitate Magazine about the importance of good culture in the workplace.

'Everyone likes to work in an organisation with a great culture because it brings out the best in us all. Like a rising tide that lifts all boats, a good culture helps us to be more constructive, more supportive of others and more courageous with our ideas. A great culture undoubtedly improves the wellbeing of those who work within it'.

At 300 North, having a great culture is something we place at the heart of our ethos. It is born out of our embedded values of honesty, integrity, knowledge and enthusiasm, all with a sprinkling of fun.

APSCo was formed to give all firms involved in the recruitment of professional talent, the specialist support and distinctive voice they need to be successful. APSCo membership is fundamentally about aspiring to the highest possible standards.

300 North are pleased to be a formal signatory to The Charter for Employers who are Positive about Mental Health. The Charter is one element of the MINDFUL EMPLOYER® initiative which is aimed at increasing awareness of mental health in the workplace and supporting businesses in recruiting and retaining staff.
One in four of us will experience mental ill health at some point in our lives. The World Health Organization defines positive mental health as “a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community”.

300 North are delighted to be sponsoring Paralympic Athlete Callum Hall. Callum is 26 years old and originally from Yeadon in West Yorkshire. He was paralysed in September 2012 after stepping on a sea urchin in Greece. This caused an epidural abscess on his spine and resulted in paraplegia. Callum was passionate about sport, being a PE teacher and playing football before his accident. He took up wheelchair racing in 2014 after hearing about it from ex patients at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield.

Tell Us About Your Professional Background

I have a background in Strategic Business Development from a career in Software Sales in the Financial Services and Insurance markets. I joined 300 North in 2015 when I learnt the recruitment ropes from Paul and took on roles for some of our first clients. I have since immersed myself in the FM Sector and believe there is a great deal that can be learnt and applied from other sectors to both the recruitment and FM markets as they evolve. 

What Do You Like Doing In Your Spare Time?

Spending time with my family, lots of big family gatherings and time with friends. I love a good night out whenever the opportunity arises.  I have a real passion for travelling, seeing the world and soaking up different cultures. I'm also a charity trustee, supporting projects which look to advance health or education in the UK and overseas.

Tell Us Something About Yourself That People Won't Know

I was once tipped for the Olympics but a bad ankle break put an end to my running career. I have also done a few bungee jumps in my time! The highest one being 365ft off Victoria Falls Bridge,the border crossing point between Zimbabwe and Zambia - this was to raise money for sustainable projects in Africa.

I am the founder and CEO of 300 North. I've worked at every level within a recruitment company from a Trainee up to CEO, wearing hats of the HR Manager, FD, Marketing Manager or IT Manager at some point along the way! Many of my personal values are mirrored in the way we work at 300 North; Honesty, Integrity, Knowledge, Enthusiasm sprinkled with a bit of fun!

I started my recruitment career in 2004 when I was recruiting teachers in Yorkshire.  I moved into FM in 2006 and started 300 North in 2014 with the desire to build a different type of recruitment company. I have built 300 North up from just myself in a home office to the growing team of FM experts that it is today. My vision for the future of 300 North is to continue to specialise and grow through having a better relationship with clients and candidates so that they work with us for many years to come.

What Do You Like Doing Outside Of Work?

When I'm not working you'll find me being a big kid with my own young children and wife and doing as much outdoor exercise as a I can, which usually involves riding up some of Yorkshire's finest hills on my road or mountain bike. For some reason I also enjoy playing badly at golf! I'm a car enthusiast and can waste many hours surfing car websites!
