Building Surveyor, Leicester
We are recruiting for an immediately available Building Surveyor to work for a leading Facilities Management Organisation based in Leicester. This is a 9-month temporary role with the possibility of it being permanent working on a housing contract.

As the Building Surveyor you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of all aspects of reactive repairs, planned servicing and programmed works and monitoring of costs and budgets.
Duties
- Ensuring the portfolio remains compliant with all regulations and requirements and that improvements and upgrades are delivered in a timely and efficient manner
- Responding to tenant requests for maintenance repairs, scheduling the required work and arranging for contractors to carry out the repairs
- Raise repairs orders from the NHF schedule of rates and update the computerised housing system
- Organising repair work in void properties and working with the team in ensuring the work is completed in time to re-let. They will liaise with contractors and instruct them on the work to be undertaken
- Preparing specifications, quotations and tenders for programmed work on a variety of properties, in response to the results of the stock condition survey.
Qualifications/ Requirements
- MRICS/FRICS Qualification is ideal but not essential
- Hold a minimum qualification of HNC or equivalent in Property Maintenance
- Demonstrate substantial building knowledge and experience in housing repairs surveys and inspections, ideally in a local authority or a housing association environment
- Good understanding of MS Office and IT systems
- Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle
