Cleaning Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a cleaning Manager or Soft Services Manager to join a reputable and growing Facilities Management organisation in Birmingham.
As a Cleaning Manager you will be responsible for multiple properties within Birmingham. This is an opportunity for someone experienced in cleaning management to develop a clear and progressive career path within a growing Facilities Management company who can offer excellent training and development and Facilities Management membership subscriptions including IWFM

Duties include
- To be responsible for training the cleaning team and Supervisor
- To set and manage personal development plans and quarterly performance reviews for all direct reports
- To monitor and review all areas of your work activities and relationships
- To escalate and manage underperformance in a timely and consistent manner
- Ensure Service levels are implemented and monitored
- Auditing and supervision
- Workforce planning and shift cover
- Staff development, upskilling and cross-training
- To carry out investigations and informal meetings in accordance with company procedure
- To proactively manage absence
- Promoting well-being
- To be responsible for contract compliance in terms of specification and KPIs
- To develop productive working relationships with client and residents in accordance to the stakeholder management plan.
- To partake in formal client meetings and reporting
- To assess and plan work in your area in agreement with your line manager and your contract Service Delivery Plan.
- To implement change initiatives and keep up to date with legislation and best practices.
- To be responsible for optimising and overseeing operations to ensure efficiency using Workplace Management System.
- To partake in pricing new cleaning business and bid presentation as and when required.
- To ensure compliance with corporate and site-specific health and safety plans.
- To assist your line manager with sub-contractor management

- Assist with finance- cost and budget planning
- Procurement of suppliers, equipment and materials
- Stock orders and stocktake
- Invoices are checked and logged
- Accurate data is maintained
Qualifications/Requirements
- Relevant managerial experience, preferably in the public sector
- Ability to work calmly and authoritatively under pressure
- Excellent communicator at all levels
- Good team working skills
- Proven administration skills with attention to details & accuracy
- Respect for confidentiality & correct application or procedures & protocols
- Ability to build and maintain relationships in and across teams
- BISCS BICS/NVQ in cleaning support services
- To be computer literate, fluent in the use of the internet, Word and Excel
- Full Driving Licence

- IWFM membership
- Capability to analyse data and produce reports
- IOSH Managing Safely Qualification
- GCSE standard in Maths & English
