Summary:

  • Business Development Director
  • Home based/hybrid with national travel
  • Salary up to £100,000 (negotiable) + competitive package
  • Facilities Management – hard services / technical services

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director (BDD) with a strong background in Hard Facilities Management (FM) services to lead and deliver our clients growth strategy. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of the UK FM and Maintenance industry, particularly within engineering and technical services, who is eager to advance their career with a dynamic and market-leading organisation.

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual, potentially even stepping into their first Director role, to shape the future of a leading FM company. If you have a strong background in Facilities Management with a focus on Hard Services and a passion for driving growth and innovation, we would love to hear from you.

Company Overview:

Our client is an exciting and forward-thinking Facilities Management company, passionate about innovation and superior customer service. With rapid growth and a commitment to becoming the UK’s most customer-centric FM company, they operate across sectors such as corporate, education and technology. They value collaboration, a hands-on approach, and a spirit of innovation.

The ideal candidate for this role will be tenacious, relationship-oriented, and proactive, capable of developing their own processes and solutions in a fast-paced, non-corporate environment. The opportunities with our client are primarily Hard FM-led, with a focus on expanding their M&E contracts and associated services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of the UK FM sector to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve by integrating the latest trends and innovations in Hard FM services.
  • Sales Management: Lead the entire sales lifecycle, ensuring seamless transitions from sales to operations.
  • Strategic Leadership: Create and implement a growth strategy focused on Hard FM services like M&E and HVAC.
  • Brand Representation: Act as the face of the company, showcasing its capabilities and strengthening its market reputation.
  • Relationship Management: Develop and nurture strong, lasting relationships with key prospects and clients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to craft tailored strategies and ensure success.

Requirements:

  • Track Record: Proven success in securing and managing substantial contracts within the UK FM market.
  • Experience: Deep knowledge of the UK Facilities Management industry, particularly Hard FM services.
  • Qualification: Relevant engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent) is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, time management, and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Problem-Solving: Innovative thinker with the ability to devise creative solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial acumen to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion:

Our client is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from all backgrounds. They are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of race, gender, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, or age.
