Salary: £55k plus overtime

The role of BMS Engineering Technician is important to the ongoing delivery of continuous production at each site, the minimisation of energy use and the provision of Utilities reporting. The role is actively to support the delivering of Planned Maintenance reactive response Maintenance and a range of small works Project activities, safely and profitably whilst maintaining a positive client relationship.
Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all BMS Planned maintenance activities are undertaken to the highest standards and delivered within the requirements of the Service Level Agreements.
Monitor all site BMS systems (remotely where possible) and ensure adjustments and reactive steps are taken to deliver RAS compliant environments and minimise energy use.
Adhering to site induction, RAMS, Safe Isolations and PTW systems and routinely auditing and improving processes and procedures to ensure a robust safety management system for all activities.
Support internal Key Performance Indicators, to include:
Performance against SLA / KPI's.
Utilities and Energy Reporting.
FOBI's / Funnel's.
LMS Compliance.
Accident frequency rates.
Near hit reporting.
Active involvement in day-to-day operation of the building management systems to ensure continuous operation of plant and equipment to provide RAS compliant environmental control and minimise energy use.
Effective fault finding on all building management systems and associated plant and equipment.
Assisting with the delivery of service excellence across all service lines.
Positively influence customer relationships with effective communications at local and national level as well as leading on Utilities Working Group meetings.
Carry out / assist in all minor new works and capital projects including BMS system installations, upgrades and refurbishments as required.
Coordination and control of sub-contractor activities to HVAC / BMS plant and associated systems to ensure safe and security compliant work on site.
Recommend and promote plant / efficiency improvements and maintain a record of all changes made and savings delivered..
Promote and maintain safe working practice in line with H&S processes.
Monitoring and maintenance of HVAC and associated plant and any other activities.
Monitor and manage energy use and take actions to minimise energy use across the estate.
Lead on delivering training to Engineering staff on the safe and effective management. Maintenance and operation of site BMS systems.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Trained BMS maintenance engineer with appropriate trade qualifications
Formal training on BMS systems maintenance and repair
Formal training on energy management
Educated to GCSE and A Level standard desirable.
Preferably IOSH, Nebosh or Rospa SHE qualification.
Experience and Skills:
- Ideally have previous experience in a similar role.
Ideally have experience in the maintenance and repair of BMS systems and plant associated with building services.
Ideally have previous experience with the operation of Trend and JCI BMS systems and controls.
Must be proficiently numerate and literate.
Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into successful operational solutions.
Sound understanding of Utilities & Energy Management.
Experience and understanding of asset risk management and Lifecycle planning.
General IT skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as a minimum).
Basic Report writing experience.
