Business Development Manager
Facilities Management Business Development Manager
We are recruiting for a Business Development Manager for a Fixed term contract or temporary contract for 6-8 months potentially longer.
Home based with some travel within the Leeds, Birmingham and London regions
Summary:

The role will help lead the growth of the facilities management contracts with accountability for successfully converting bids and the development of key strategic accounts. The Business Development Manager will also be expected to build and actively manage close working relationships with other stakeholders in the business and lead bid opportunities of differing values and complexity, potentially including high value and highly complex opportunities. Working closely with the FM Sectors Director and FM Business Development Directors ahead of the tender/ renewal to create a winning strategy and subsequentially executing this strategy during the bid and contract negotiation stage, keeping the strategy under review to ensure that it remains effective, even if circumstances of the bid or client requirements change during the bid process.
Other duties include:
- Lead on client engagement
- leading some extensions and renewals
- Work closely with the Energy and Carbon team to make sure that the key differentiator of making Zero Carbon happen is leveraged to secure growth.
- Delivering bid win ratios of 1:2.5 and supporting retention targets on our top 25 customers in excess of 90%
- Achieving growth with existing customers and those forming part of secured orderbook in line with Medium Term Plan (MTP)/ Business Plan
- Leading bids to contract close and ensuring effective handovers to mobilisation and operational teams so that contracts successfully realise or exceed the profitability forecast at the bid stage
- Lead opportunities through internal Governance, ensuring compliance with all governance processes at all times
- Lead customer/ client engagement throughout the bid period and contract negotiations
- Provide information and updates to internal reporting processes, including the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, as required so that the Executive teams are regularly informed on bid progress, solution development and our competitive positioning
Qualifications/Requirements
- 5 years + experience within Business Development/ Bid management roles within the Facilities Mangert sectore
- Experience of both the UK public and private sector bidding environment
- Experience of Sales, Bid development and Marketing, challenging the status quo and creating a compelling vision.
