An excellent opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Operative in a temporary possibly leading to permanent position based in Rotherham
- Grounds Maintenance Operative
- Monday to Friday 7am to 4:30pm Now to October
- Rotherham & surrounding areas
- £9.22 to £11.58 per hour (Depending on pay method)
Duties:
General maintenance of grounds e.g., Hedge and shrub trimming, clearing of leaves and litter, grass cutting. Horticultural grounds maintenance tasks at contracted sites. Driving company vehicles and transporting plant, machinery and equipment. Ensuring all visited sites are left in a clean and tidy state. Chemical and hand-weed control. Reporting any damage or vandalism to the property or premises to the Grounds Manager. Maintenance of records relating to tasks performed, vehicles and equipment, materials and timesheets. Maintenance tasks at contracted sites as directed by the Service Delivery Manager/Grounds Team Leader. Use of appropriate equipment and tools including the operation of powered hand tools, minor plant and machinery. Maintenance of vehicles and machinery and reporting vehicle defects.
Skills Required:
Ability to work to laid down schedules with good communication and resilience under pressure. Ability to work as part of a team and the use of your own initiative. Enthusiasm, ambition, drive and commitment to the job. Excellent customer liaison skills together with a commitment to customer service. Good experience delivering a grounds maintenance service in a commercial environment, with ability to deal with seasonal requirements and planning. Knowledge of the use of chemicals (COSHH) and Health and Safety legislation is desirable with knowledge of relevant health and safety procedures. Obligation to adhere to safe working practices and ensure due consideration is given to the safety of residents and the public. PA1/PA6 qualifications are desirable.
