Building Estates Officer
- Location: Newcastle
- Salary Equivalent £28,050 to £36,644
- Client will consider temporary or permanent candidates
Our client is looking for a Building Estates Officer to join their team to undertake and manage major/minor and building capital works and building improvement projects including responsibility for project budgets, programmes, co-ordination and commissioning.
The Role
- To manage a variety of building maintenance tasks which include multidisciplinary teams including building and joinery crafts-persons , other Estates crafts-persons, contractors & specialist services ( This would include plant and equipment in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure the fabric of the hospital to provide a safe environment for patients, public and staff. You will be prepared to undertake additional training in order to fulfil the requirements of the post.
- You will undertake condition/dilapidation surveys to ensure building assets are maintained at acceptable standards.
- You will participate in the Estates out of hours "on-call" emergency service.
- To provide cover for the Senior Building Officer in his absence.
- You will report directly into the Estates Operations Manager.
The Person
- You must be qualified to a minimum of:-
- Degree level qualification / experience plus specialist knowledge acquired through training / experience
- HNC plus prescribed experience plus specialist knowledge
- An Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) in a building or related subject
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- You will have extensive experience in service, maintenance, and repair of all general building trades. This will typically involve significant post qualification experience in a large acute hospital site and include a good working knowledge of the following key disciplines:_
- Health & Safety legislation
- Building Regulations
- Estates guidelines.
- Knowledge of contractual procedures.
- The post holder is required to maintain a programme of continual professional development (CPD) to ensure current best practice is achieved.
- Training in Autocad is desirable
- Effective communicator
