We have an immediate vacancy for a Senior Design Manager in Lancashire

You will join a talented and growing team to work on schemes in the North West.

Brief Summary

• Pre construction Senior design manager
• Salary - Up to £80,000 + Package
• North West, Lancashire
• Client will consider interim or permanent candidate
• Immediately vacancy so ideally need to be available within a month (client will look at contractor for interim or perm)
• Managing multiple projects pre construction from 2M plus up to 20m
• Must have PFI and Healthcare experience

You will ideally have come from a consulting background and have proven yourself Pre-Construction Management positions over the course of several years at Senior Design Manager level. Desirable sector experience includes healthcare and PFI

Duties:

Manage the full preconstruction life cycle, including

• Developing relationships with the client
• Programme management, conception design planning and programming
• Supporting business plan activities and carry out business plan actions as directed
• Providing input to the work winning strategy/act as bid manager when called upon to do so
• Driving all design related project outcome
• Providing role specific technical expertise in design management and act as focal point for all technical design related matters
• Liaising with the project planner, produce, agree and manage (for all relevant parties) a realistic design programme to satisfy design, procurement and construction requirements

Providing support, the head of design and engineering/sector design director in developing inputs into continuous business improvement initiatives.

Supporting business plan activities and carry out business plan actions as directed.

• Understand and challenge technical documents relating to design, construction, legal and financial elements and to devise a strategy
• Develop strategies to understand client needs whilst developing a strong relationship with them.
• Be committed to continuing professional development and to maintain an up to date knowledge required for the level of appointment

Qualifications/Requirements

• Extensive experience in appointing, monitoring and control of the project teams work taking account of the priorities of projects
• Proven track record of planning, monitoring and controlling the delivery of projects to customers Experience managing relationships and communications with consultants and customers
• Experience of MS Office, Ms Project, earned value and reporting tools
• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
• Be proactive and flexible and have excellent communication skills
• Post graduate qualifications in project management or construction management would be an advantage
• Chartership of relevant professional organisation (strongly desired but not essential)
