Role: M&E Buyer

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE)

Location: Yeadon, Leeds

Type: Permanent, full-time

We are recruiting for an experienced M&E Buyer to join a leading building services contractor in Yeadon, Leeds.

This is a brand-new role, allowing you to set up and drive the procurement function for mechanical and electrical works across a diverse project portfolio.

The Role

As the M&E Buyer, you'll be responsible for procuring all mechanical and electrical materials, plant, and subcontract packages. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities


  • Source and purchase M&E equipment, materials, and subcontract packages in line with specifications.

     

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure best value and service.

     

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to meet project deadlines.

     

  • Coordinate procurement with Project Managers and site teams across live projects.

     

  • Maintain accurate records for compliance, warranties, and O&M documentation.

     

  • Stay up to date with market trends, lead times, and cost movements.

     


About You


  • Proven experience as an M&E Buyer within a building services, mechanical, or electrical contracting environment - essential.

     

  • Strong understanding of M&E drawings, specifications, and systems.

     

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.

     

  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
