Telehandler - Renewable Energy (Solar Farm)

Salary:
£26.50 per hour CIS
40 hour weeks
Temporary contract for up to 1 year
The role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Telehandler to join our client's team working on a solar farm based in Chesterfield, you will be part of an exciting new project contributing to the growth of renewable energy. As a Telehandler in the renewable energy sector, you will play a crucial role in supporting the construction and maintenance of solar farm infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
1. Lift, move, and position materials and equipment within the solar farm construction area, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
2. Safely load and unload materials from delivery vehicles, transporting them to designated locations on the solar farm site using telehandler equipment.
3. Assist with the installation of solar panels, mounting structures, and other components, supporting the construction of renewable energy infrastructure.
4. Conduct pre-operational checks of telehandler equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition, reporting any issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
5. Follow established safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and prevent accidents during telehandler operations, prioritising the well-being of personnel.
6. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate material movements and lifting activities, promoting a culture of collaboration and efficiency on the solar farm site.
7. Maintain accurate records.
8. Provide support to other team members as required, including general labour tasks related to the solar farm construction and maintenance.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Telehandler in a construction setting, with a demonstrated track record of safe and efficient equipment operation.
2. Valid CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) certification
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards.
5. Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labour tasks and operate telehandler equipment in outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions.
6. Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures, with a passion for contributing to the growth of renewable energy solutions.
