Role: Maintenance Electrician - Shifts
Location: Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth- £32,000 - £34,000
- Site in Portsmouth
- 24 days holiday + stats
- Overtime paid x1.5 after 37.5 hours

My client is looking for a Maintenance Electrician to undertake planned, preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, and new installation work covering a wide range of equipment, services, systems, and buildings associated with the running of a large hospital. To work shift patterns as determined by the role. The shifts consist of 2x 41 hour weeks, 1x 39hr week & 1x 27 hour shift.

Duties of the role include:
- Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance service within the Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, for the service provider.
- Undertake any training when required.
- Promote a culture of customer service to both internal and external customers, and partners, and to liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post.
- After suitable training and guidance diagnose faults, repair, and maintain complex equipment in accordance with Health Technical Memorandum (HTM’S) and other specialised hospital guidance.
- Carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand, with a level of competence that is outside core trade.
- To carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response.
- To work safely on ELV/LV in accordance with Health Technical Memorandum (HTM’S) BS7671 wiring regulations and all electrical statutory regulations I.E The Electricity at Work Act 1989, and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- To always observe statutory and other relevant regulations in particular those to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations, working at height, etc.
The candidate:
- Electrical qualifications - either City and Guilds or NVQ
- 17 th or 18 th edition
- Good customer service skills
