Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support delivery of multiple building services projects in Bolton, Lancashire.

Duties:


  • To provide cost advice, advising cost of a schemes from inception of a new project.
  • Prepare a realistic budget and a cost plan showing the distribution of cost for each element based on the client brief.
  • Cost planning during the design stage of the project including added value to his property asset, preferably having regard to total costs using life cycle costing technique so that the costs are distributed in the most realistic way and the contract sum is kept within the client's budget.
  • Advise on the most appropriate form of building procurement based on the type of project, quality of building, speed of construction, apportionment of risk and price certainty.
  • Prepare tender documents in the tendering stage including Bill of Quantities as required.
  • Evaluation of tenders and negotiate rates with contractors.
  • Prepare financial statements during the construction period and advise on anticipated liability for payment, giving dates and amounts.
  • Prepare the final account for the whole project and agree details and totals with the contractor's Quantity Surveyor.

Qualifications/ Requirements


  • Demonstratable experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the building services field.
  • NEBOSH qualified or equivalent
  • Training/experience of working within the CDM Regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both verbal and written
  • Recognised Quantity Surveyor Qualification
  • Proven commercial ability and awareness
  • Able to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to operate effective IT systems
  • Be able to work under pressure within structured timeframes
