Associate Director, Facilities & Estates

Newcastle Upon Tyne

Fixed Term Contract

Salary £68k

Our client is looking for an Assitant Director of Facilities & Estates to joint their team in Newcastle.

The Role


  • To ensure an integrated, innovative, responsive, commercially and customer focussed professional Service provision for the wide range of services delivered by Facilities and Estates.
  • To lead on the delivery of a sustainable and efficient Estate Development Plan, providing professional leadership for the planning of the estates portfolio, including proposals for property developments and cost effective, student experience focussed space utilisation initiatives.
  • To prepare and deliver to the Service Budget.
  • To ensure that the business complies with relevant regulations and legislation and maintains high standards of probity and best practice.
  • To lead, develop and coach senior staff in Facilities and Estates instilling a strong commercial outlook, creating a culture of business partnership, constructive challenge and continuous improvement.
  • To ensure an effective and productive relationship is developed with the businesses internal and external key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience


  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • A relevant professional qualification or membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and professional best practice applicable to the role.
  • A sound knowledge of financial management, including forecasting, formulating and managing income and expenditure budgets in a commercial environment.
  • Significant applicable experience in a relevant Facilities and Estates discipline, with demonstrable track record of delivery in a commercially focussed, complex high achieving organisation.
  • Significant experience of driving innovation and change, ideally within a HE setting.
