Hard-Services Supervisor
We have an exciting opportunity for a Hard services Supervisor mechanical or electrical qualified, ideally multiskilled to be based in Essex.

As a hard services Supervisor you will report to the Contract Manager and be responsible for supervising a small team of technicians providing Mechanical/electrical maintenance service across multiple facilities management contracts in Essex area, on servicing and inspections of boiler plant, swimming pools and sewerage plant within the education, housing and highways projects.
Duties Include:
- Ensure Hard FM services are delivered safely in accordance with Health and Safety best practice and compliant with all legislative requirements and relevant engineering standards.
- Minimise PFI contract deductions by delivering FM services in accordance with the contract, responding effectively to all issues in line with KPI's.
- To work alongside and support the team of technicians responsible for undertaking servicing, installation and overhaul of specialist equipment.
- To oversee a programme of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and service works in commercial and domestic premises together with the provision of accurate records in relation to the work undertaken.
- To provide estimates and quotes supporting the Contract Manager liaising with clients.
- Work closely with the Contract Manager to produce and implement the delivery of a 52 week planner necessary to complete works to ensure full statutory compliance on all contracts.
- Develop and introduce a schedule of critical spares required to ensure the timely completion of any reactive or planned tasks.
- To carry out regular site audits across all contracts to ensure services are being maintained to agreed standards and performance.
- Accountable for day to day performance management of all subcontractors
- To act as a mentor to trainees
- Obtain, where requested, customer feedback on completion of repair and new installation works.
- To take part in an out or hours on call shift rota.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Fully qualified multi-skilled electrical /mechanical engineer.
- Extensive knowledge of building services and building fabric maintenance is essential for this role.
- Fully qualified Gas Safe engineer with a range of current certifications from the following; Commercial CCN1, CDGA1, CENWAT, CIGA1, CKR1, CODNCO1, CORT1, CPA1, HTR1, ICPN1, J01, L1, TPCP1
- A good knowledge of heating and plumbing installation and repair works including control systems and electrical systems associated with motor control centres.An extensive knowledge of mechanical/electrical maintenance and installation techniques on domestic and commercial systems.
- Supervisory/management experience of a multi-disciplined maintenance team.
- A clean UK driving Licence is essential for this role
- An industry approved electrical qualification including testing and NICEIC requirements, experience of Qualifying Supervisor for NIC.
- Experience of working within a Facilities Management contract.
- Experience of working within the Education and Social Housing sectors.
- Experience of working on Air Conditioning/Air Handling units and refrigerant handling would be beneficial.
- A good working knowledge of BMS and associated heating and other control systems.
