PRINCIPAL FIRE ENGINEER

Job Title

Principal Fire Engineer | North West | Up to £100,000 + Bonus | Build a New Fire Engineering Division

Introduction

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Fire Engineer to join a brand-new Fire Engineering division at an exciting stage of its growth.

Rather than joining an already established consultancy, you'll work directly alongside the Head of Fire Engineering to help shape, develop and grow a new division with genuine long-term progression and influence over its future direction.

This role would suit either an existing Principal Fire Engineer or an ambitious Senior Fire Engineer looking to step into a Principal position.

The Role

Working across a broad portfolio of projects, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality fire engineering advice whilst helping develop client relationships and supporting the growth of the team.

Projects will span multiple sectors including commercial, industrial, residential, healthcare and public sector developments.

You'll have the opportunity to influence technical standards, mentor junior engineers and become a key figure within the business as the team expands.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Fire Engineering consultancy across a range of projects.
  • Prepare Fire Strategies.
  • Undertake Fire Engineering calculations and assessments.
  • Provide technical advice to clients, architects and design teams.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers.
  • Assist with developing technical standards and best practice.
  • Help build long-term client relationships.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or similar.
  • Significant consultancy experience.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status (or planning to achieve Chartership within the next 2-3 years).
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and Fire Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to build relationships.

What's on Offer

  • Salary up to £100,000
  • Generous annual bonus structure
  • Flexible working
  • Genuine opportunity to build a new Fire Engineering division
  • Clear progression towards Associate and Director level
  • Work directly alongside an experienced Head of Fire Engineering
  • Strong pipeline of secured work
  • Modern, supportive culture
