You will be working across a variety of building types which will largely comprise of large-scale warehouses but also offices, museum, shops, restaurant etc. The site is modern, most of it being built in the year 2000 and houses some extremely cutting-edge technology so makes for a busy and interesting environment to work. As the buildings are new, the building services within it are in good condition which makes ppm's much easier than with older sites.
The Role:
The role itself is to work as an mechanical engineer as part of a wider team, completing hands on maintenance work across the site, keeping the building in a good condition so everyone working inside it can work at peak performance. There is some training provided with the role - ideally you will be experience with both plumbing/heating and A/C but if not you can be trained in relevant areas.
The role is 12 hours shifts, 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off (repeat). Shifts are either 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am.
Duties include:
- Responsible for all minor installations and maintenance of site Mechanical and Electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical systems including plumbing, pressure, water, A/C systems - VAV, VRV, FCU's, chillers, wet and dry systems, air-handling units and thermal wheels, heating systems, pumps, water treatment.
- Electrical work such as lamping and BMS management (working alongside electrical engineers) and general handyman duties as required.
- Issuing Permits to work and managing subcontractors
- Produce high quality reports of their findings along with estimates and sourcing of parts as required.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and time served mechanical engineer with a wide range of commercial experience and an in-depth knowledge of the relevant skills outlined in the duties.
Qualifications and skills required for the role include:
