While the site is a manufacturing facility, you and your team will not work on any machinery and will be focussed on building maintenance only completing ppm and reactive maintenance on the commercial premises.
You will be working across a variety of building types which will largely comprise of large-scale warehouses but also offices, museum, shops, restaurant etc. The site is modern, most of it being built in the year 2000 and houses some extremely cutting-edge technology so makes for a busy and interesting environment to work. As the buildings are new, the building services within it are in good condition which makes ppm's much easier than with older sites.
The Role:
The role itself is to work as a senior engineer as part of a wider team, completing hands on maintenance work but also being a point of technical advice for more junior engineers on the team. While the role is electrically biased, as the role is full M+E maintenance across the site, you will be expected to be involved in some minor mechanical and fabric works as required so flexibility it a must.
The role is 12 hours shifts, 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off (repeat). Shifts are either 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am.
Duties include:
- To lead the Mechanical and Electrical shift team and to carry out all PPM and reactive repairs as necessary.
- Responsible for all minor installations and maintenance of site Mechanical and Electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair faults on electrical systems including lighting, wiring, alarms, BMS, HV/LV, fire and safety systems etc
- If experienced you will also work on generators, single and 3 phase systems and motors, if not training will be provided on these areas.
- Mechanical work such as air-conditioning and heating systems (working alongside the mechanical engineers) and general handyman duties as required.
- Issuing Permits to work and managing subcontractors
- Produce high quality reports of their findings along with estimates and sourcing of parts as required.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and time served electrical engineer with a wide range of commercial experience and an in-depth knowledge of the relevant skills outlined in the duties.
Qualifications and skills required for the role include:
- IPAF 3a & 3b (desirable but not essential, training can be provided)
