My client is looking to hire a site based senior handyman to run a large and interesting static site in Dover in the CT16 area. Within this role you will be in charge of all first line technical maintenance on site and manage a team of cleaning subcontractors and also have 2 on site receptionists report into you.

Although this role is mostly hands on, as there are some elements of people management this is ideal for the experienced handyman looking to progress their career to the next step. The contracts manager is very happy to provide training in this area if no previous management experience is held.

Duties of the role:

• Complete all PPM's as required on site including fire alarm tests, emergency, lighting, sprinklers, door closures, flushing and tap temperatures.
• Management of reactive calls and breakdowns
• Manage chargeable works and budgets to create growth on the contract
• Manage the onsite contractors
• Manage x2 receptionist staff in the building
• Carry out site audits
• Manage on-site client relationships in appropriate and positive manner including having regular meetings
• Look after health safety on site
• In charge of on site compliance and associates paperwork and remedials
• Fire safety monitor for the site co-ordinating and arranging regular fire drills
• Reporting the health and safety

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive experience as a technical handyman
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical services
• Knowledge of health and safety and compliance
• IT proficient
• Strong communication both verbal and written

Other qualities and qualifications that are desirable but not essential:

• CIEH in water hygiene
• Fire Marshall and First Aid Trained
• IOSH
• SIA License
