Area Technical Supervisor


Durham

Our client is looking for an Area Technical Supervisor who is from an electrical background.


The Role




    • The role holder will oversee the maintenance repairs and inspection of building fabric, mechanical, electrical services, and associated systems. This will be working across a number of contracts in the north east.



Undertake site visits.


Reviewing of onsite paperwork to ensure compliance to required standards. Conducting walkarounds to pick up any ongoing issues. Providing supervision and engagement with the local site managers, building good working relationships and a support network to all stakeholders.


Provide leadership to technical administration and caretaking staff, ensuring that maintenance records are complete, up to date and corrective works are logged and closed out.


Taking responsibility for and leading the day-to-day scheduling of work including the organisation, planning and deployment of both direct labour and sub-contracted labour to meet the requirements of the Site PPM's.


First point of contact for reactive technical issues, advising solutions to issues arising. Analysing technical service reports and deciding on corrective actions.


Challenging poor workmanship or contractor performance when required.


Building working relationships and between all contract stakeholders.


Communicating technical issues and escalating complex issues to the TSM and Operations managers for further support.


Team leadership, working with, sharing knowledge, and developing staff


Act as Competent/ Authorised Person/ Duty Holder, where assessed and appointed. For disciplines including (but not limited to) Water Hygiene, Confined Spaces, Hot Works, LV Electrical, Natural Gas, FGas.


Qualifications & Experience



  • Electrically biased background although Mechanical may be considered.

  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship in a discipline to minimum NVQ level 3 in your field. An HNC/HND is desirable along with Health and Safety Qualifications or Construction Site Management Qualifications.

  • A previous background of experience working on PFI contracts within Education or Healthcare would be a distinct advantage.
