Electrical Estates Officer

- Salary equivalent £28050 to £36,644 depending on experience
- Client considering temporary and permanent candidates
Our client is looking for 2 electrical supervisors to join their estates team.
The Role
- To manage a variety of engineering, energy and environmental duties including maintenance, installation, testing, repair and commissioning of services and equipment.( This would include plant and equipment in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure the engineering services and infrastructure of the hospital and to provide a safe environment for patients, public and staff. Manage minor works and engineering capital projects including responsibility for budgets, programmes and co-ordination.
- Undertake condition surveys to ensure engineering assets are maintained at acceptable standards.
- Shall be prepared to undertake additional training in order to fulfil the requirements of the post, satisfy new regulations/legislation or to further develop their duties.
- To participate in the Estates out of hours "on-call" emergency service.
The Person & Qualifications
- (ONC) in building services or engineering + Higher National Certificate (HNC)
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Specialist training and knowledge in particular field of hospital engineering (sterilisers, steam, electrical, medical gases, energy management)
- The post holder will have extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of engineering services found in a large acute hospital site. This will typically involve post qualification experience, including formal training and a good working knowledge of the following key disciplines:-
- Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Health and Safety legislation and other associated legislation NHS Estates Guidance Documents
- Emergency procedures and systems
- Excellent communication skills
- It would be desirable to have an engineering degree and/ or working towards chartership
