We are recruiting for a Fire Safety Manager to Join a leading Facilities Management Organisation to work on a Healthcare Contract in Portsmouth.

As the Fire Safety Manager, you will act as the lead competent person in relation to fire safety issues with specific reference to the NHS Fire Code standards and the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Duties/Responsibilities
The post holder will have the ability to work autonomously and be able to receive and carefully analyse and interpret complexed information. They will also be required to make judgements and
- Provide the professional input to all matters relating to fire prevention and precaution issues
- Provide the interpretation and application of the provisions of legislation in the Fire Safety Policy and other regulatory guidance and legislation in respect of fire safety in NHS premises.
- Ensure that fire safety statutory compliance is co-ordinated and maintained.
- Implementation and monitor fire safety policies and associated fire safety risk management system.
- Ensure the effective and appropriate translation of fire safety strategy into practical application through the active promotion of fire safety.
- Develop and monitor the programme of fire risk assessments of premises as required by HTM FIRECODE and The Fire Safety Order 2005.
- Manage the maintenance of corporate fire safety records, and the development of local fire safety manuals for premises
- Prepare fire safety reports and undertake audits in accordance with agreed contract schedules.
- Liaise with local authorities and other organisations relevant to the scope of project works to ensure compliance with both legislation and Local Acts with regards to fire safety requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Member of recognised professional body in relation to Fire Safety Management.
- Recognised qualification in a fire safety discipline
- Experience working in a Fire safety management role in a healthcare setting
- Good working knowledge in building fire safety and building engineering services at Supervisory level.
- IT Literate abd database skills
- Effective communication, presentation and report writing skills.
- Influencing and negotiating skills.
