We are currently recruiting for 2 Hard Services Supervisors to work at a large hospital in Birmingham. The purpose of the role is to assist the Technical Services Manager in delivering the hard FM and lifecycle services across the hospital while ensuring compliance is met at all times. You will be the supervisory lead on each shift managing the engineers and making sure the technical workload for that shift is completed.
The shift pattern is 4 days on 2 days and 2 nights and then 4 days off.
Duties include:
- Managing the performance of the shift team and acting as a technical lead on the team.
- Acting as the first port of call for all management related issues on the shift and being the point of escalation.
- Ensuring all ppm and reactive maintenance tasks are completed.
- Delivering staff training and relevant toolbox talks as required.
- Managing staff including recruitment, appraisals, training needs, signing off timesheets etc
- Ensuring PPM work is completed and logged through the Maximo system and is compliant within contract and regulation guidelines.
- Some budgetary responsibility managing small works and stock takes.
- Carrying out instructions and auditors of both in house and subcontractors to ensure compliance is being met and that the contract is being met within the PFI guidelines.
- Carry out accurate condition surveys and assist in the planning of follow up lifecycle work.
- Ensuring all paperwork is completed and logged for each job.
- Responsible for safety of plant and equipment and for promoting and managing safe working practices.
- Participate as a member of the Estates Team by achieving Authorised Person (AP) status in several disciplines.
- Responsible for participating in the 'on call' Rota as and when required.
- Hand over with the next shift supervisor at the end of each shift to ensure strong communication across the team.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Skilled and qualified in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with relevant City and Guilds or NVQ qualification (and 18 th edition if electrical).
- Must have experience of HV and LV systems.
- Previous experience working on shift is an advantage.
- Experience working in a hospital environment is preferred.
- Any AP/RP qualifications or experience are very advantageous.
- Previous staff management is desirable.
