Architectural Technician

Darlington

Salary £37,910

Our client is looking for an architectural technician to joine the maintenance team in Darlington.

The Role


  • You will prepare feasibility studies, timetables and budgets for Capital Projects and will be required to produce working drawings, sketch designs and concept designs,
  • You will have experience of project management, costing and specifications.
  • You will coordinate site control of capital works projects undertaken by the company.
  • Must have experience in project cost estimation, tender specifications and analysis , and the use of Autocad system or similar.
  • Check and evaluate tender submissions made to the Company from contractors and specialist equipment suppliers.
  • Co-ordinate detailed design with external consultants and suppliers
  • Prepare Room Data Sheets and Schedules of Accommodation.
  • Liaise advise clients on design criteria for compliance with HTMs and HBNs.
  • Carry out site inspections (quality control), prepare records of meetings and monitor progress. Provide technical solutions and modify design details where required to resolve any issues arising during construction.

The Person


  • You must be able to work on your own initiative.
  • You will have good working knowledge of Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and standard forms of contract.
  • Experience of working within a healthcare environment and understand current legislations.

Qualifications


  • Qualification in Architectural Technology, Building Construction or Architecture
  • BSC, HNC, HND, Part 1 RIBA or equivalent (essential).
  • Qualification in the use of AutoCAD (desirable).
