My client is recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to work on their large hospital site in Wakefield. The site is large and interesting providing a stimulating environment for people who like a challenge and be busy and active. The main responsibility of the role is to monitor the water hygiene in the building, this will involve taking water temperatures, flushing systems and keeping accurate paperwork. As the hospital is large site you will cover quite a few miles walking on a shift so a basic level of fitness is advantageous.
Duties include:
- Taking water temperatures from taps and other running water outlets
- Flushing systems and monitoring the water flow
- Filter changes
- Paperwork recording temps and flushes
- Drain unblocking
- Basic maintenance and repair duties as required as part of the role which could be fabric or basic electrical or mechanical
There is a lot of specific kit on the site for which full training and upskilling is provided so this is the perfect opportunity to expand your skill set. There is also the opportunity to progress within the company and move into engineering roles in the future if you're looking to study further and gain promotion.
With the role being in a hospital with Covid-19 cases on the wards, risk assessments and health checks will be done on applicants prior to placements for their safety.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have:
- Experience as working as part of a maintenance team
- Water hygiene experience is desirable
- L8 certificate is desirable
- Able to work unsupervised
- Good customer facing experience to deal with the client on site
- Have a strong work ethic
- Accurate paperwork skills
