- Our client is looking for a Specialist Planning Officer to join their capital works department within the NHS.
The Role
- Accommodation planning locally and strategically (including review of accommodation requests, utilisation of accommodation).
- Planning of moves.
- Negotiation and liaison with staff groups regarding accommodation and moves.
- Liaison with internal and external agencies for the enabling of accommodation.
- Liaison with Clinical services in relation to the clinical environment.
- Administration of and participation in the Capital Management Group.
- Development of a close partnership with Business & Development in the Trust and other stakeholders to ensure effective management of capital requests for equipment and works
Qualifications & Experience
- Educated to degree level in an Estates related discipline i.e. chartered or surveyor with relevant or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Minimum of two years relevant experience working at senior management level.
- Possess strong negotiation skills and be able to liaise with all staff disciplines at all levels.
- Possess strong organisational skills.
- Project management (Prince2) and ability to work to deliver projects within required timescales.
- Possess strong numerical, statistical, analytical, presentational and reporting skills.
- Computer literacy, coupled with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Windows and standard keyboard skills.
- Developing and using complex spreadsheets, in particular through Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of management in the NHS would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of planning procedures.
- Ability to think and operate at a strategic level.
- Understanding of Premises Assurance Model and Estates and Facilities Governance.
- Ability to write business cases.
- Understanding of the Clinical Environment and equipment.
