The Role

• Operating and maintaining the Steam generating boiler plant
• Maintaining compliance with statutory health, safety and environmental provisions.
• Operating the plant to ensure compliance with appropriate safety and environmental standards, and statutory requirements including BG01, BG04, PSSR etc.
• Carrying out plant-related routine duties (with an electrical bias) to ensure plant performance, availability and reliability is maintained to a high level.
• Application of safe systems of work.
• Plant & control system first line fault diagnosis and reporting.
• Application of operational, maintenance and safety systems and documentation for the plant incorporating relevant company standards, including carrying out the duties of an Authorised Person.
• Assisting with the planning, organising and supervising maintenance activities.
• Assisting Senior technician on projects and outage preparation
• General operation and maintenance of plant
• Responsibility for following site documentation, procedures and assisting with the review of the documents
• Liaising with internal and external customers

Qualifications & Experience

• Apprentice trained Craft Electrician and time served in the relevant trade discipline (Essential)
• ONC/C&G or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical)
• Experience of diagnosis and repair of electrical failures, routine maintenance and experience of instrumentation.
• 17 th /18th Edition qualification (desirable)
• Must recognise and promote the importance of adhering to site Health & Safety regulations
• Industrial Steam Boiler experience
• Knowledge of Steam boiler water treatment.
• Knowledge of rotating plant.
• Knowledge of CMMS (desirable)
• BOAS Operator (desirable)
• Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage and organise heavy workloads, prioritising relevant business and client needs
• Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to understand and liaise with others
• Computer literacy and basic IT skills (desirable)
• IOSH or similar safety qualification (desirable)
• Management of Contractors

You will work day shifts with 1 in 4 weeks on a call out rota being paid £180 per month.

You will receive 22 days holiday increasing to 25
