Mobile Boiler Operation and Maintenance Technician (Electrical)

The Role
- Operating and maintaining the Steam generating boiler plant
- Maintaining compliance with statutory health, safety and environmental provisions.
- Operating the plant to ensure compliance with appropriate safety and environmental standards, and statutory requirements including BG01, BG04, PSSR etc.
- Carrying out plant-related routine duties (with an electrical bias) to ensure plant performance, availability and reliability is maintained to a high level.
- Application of safe systems of work.
- Plant & control system first line fault diagnosis and reporting.
- Application of operational, maintenance and safety systems and documentation for the plant incorporating relevant company standards, including carrying out the duties of an Authorised Person.
- Assisting with the planning, organising and supervising maintenance activities.
- Assisting Senior technician on projects and outage preparation
- General operation and maintenance of plant
- Responsibility for following site documentation, procedures and assisting with the review of the documents
- Liaising with internal and external customers
Qualifications & Experience
- Apprentice trained Craft Electrician and time served in the relevant trade discipline (Essential)
- ONC/C&G or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical)
- Experience of diagnosis and repair of electrical failures, routine maintenance and experience of instrumentation.
- 17 th /18th Edition qualification (desirable)
- Must recognise and promote the importance of adhering to site Health & Safety regulations
- Industrial Steam Boiler experience
- Knowledge of Steam boiler water treatment.
- Knowledge of rotating plant.
- Knowledge of CMMS (desirable)
- BOAS Operator (desirable)
- Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage and organise heavy workloads, prioritising relevant business and client needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to understand and liaise with others
- Computer literacy and basic IT skills (desirable)
- IOSH or similar safety qualification (desirable)
- Management of Contractors
You will work day shifts with 1 in 4 weeks on a call out rota being paid £180 per month.
You will receive 22 days holiday increasing to 25
