Technical Services Manager - Electrical
Location: Kirkcaldy, Fife
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Working Hours: Flexible start and finish between 07:00-17:00
Salary: Up to £51,520 per annum

The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Services Manager - Electrical to join a leading facilities management team supporting a major NHS healthcare contract in Kirkcaldy.
The successful candidate will provide leadership across electrical operations, planned and reactive maintenance, compliance, lifecycle works, contractors and financial performance, while ensuring critical systems remain safe, compliant and operational with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the electrical workforce to deliver contractual requirements and service standards.
- Oversee planned, reactive and lifecycle maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, effectively and accurately recorded.
- Maintain the integrity and availability of critical electrical systems and minimise asset downtime.
- Manage electrical resources across HV, LV and associated electrical systems.
- Lead and manage Authorised Person (AP) and Competent Person (CP) arrangements.
- Ensure robust Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work processes are implemented and maintained.
- Manage CAFM systems, including job planning, asset registers and maintenance scheduling.
- Coordinate additional works, lifecycle projects and procurement of materials and services.
- Manage external contractors and supply chain performance, ensuring compliance, quality and safety standards are maintained.
- Maintain technical, statutory and contractual documentation, including Risk Assessments, Business Continuity Plans and Written Schemes.
- Lead internal and external technical audits and ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Act as a key point of contact for the client, attending stakeholder meetings and providing regular performance updates and reports.
- Manage technical training requirements, training matrices and the Technical Appointments Register.
- Lead HR and people-management activities including performance reviews and development planning.
- Produce monthly contract performance and energy management reports.
- Manage budgets, contract finances and financial forecasting.
- Maintain operational documentation and Local Operating Procedures in line with legislation and best practice.
- Promote a strong Health, Safety and Environmental culture across the contract.
- Support operational continuity and workforce planning in conjunction with the Service Desk.
- Participate in the On-Call Manager rota.
Essential Requirements
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent electrical qualification.
- Recognised electrical qualifications and/or fully qualified Electrician status.
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a similar technical or contract management position.
- Strong experience managing electrical or hard services delivery against contractual requirements.
- Proven leadership and people-management experience.
- Strong understanding of financial management, budgets and forecasting.
- Experience managing planned and reactive maintenance.
- Experience using CAFM systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Disclosure Scotland PVG Level clearance.
- Facilities management experience within a healthcare / NHS environment.
- Knowledge of SHTM 06-01, SHTM 06-02 and SHTM 06-03.
- LV and/or HV Authorised/Authorised Person experience or certification.
- Experience with confined spaces, fire safety and/or lifts management.
- Project management experience delivering works within a live operational environment.

- Salary up to £51,520 per annum
- Responsibility Allowance: £187.50 per month, subject to successful appointment as RP/AP by the appropriate Authorising Engineer in the relevant disciplin
