Description

PFI Asset Manager – Healthcare (London)

Salary: up to £99,000 + benefits
Location: London
Sector: Healthcare PFI

We are supporting a major healthcare PFI contract in London with the appointment of a senior PFI Asset Manager to take full accountability for asset performance, lifecycle delivery, compliance, and long-term value across a complex acute hospital estate.

This is a strategic leadership role requiring a strong balance of technical credibility, commercial control, and stakeholder management, operating within a live, high-risk healthcare environment.

The Role: Reporting at senior leadership level, you will hold overall responsibility for the asset management and lifecycle strategy of the PFI estate, ensuring assets are safe, compliant, optimised, and handed back in line with contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of the asset management strategy across a large healthcare PFI estate
  • Leadership of lifecycle planning, delivery and optimisation, ensuring value for money and long-term asset integrity
  • Oversight of statutory compliance, high-risk systems and assurance, including performance against healthcare standards
  • Senior stakeholder management across Trust, FM, SPC and supply chain interfaces
  • Governance of PFI/SPV obligations, risk registers, audits and performance reporting
  • Commercial accountability, including budget control, lifecycle spend and financial forecasting
  • Leadership and development of multidisciplinary technical and operational teams

About You: You will be an experienced senior operator from a healthcare PFI background, comfortable operating in complex, regulated environments.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in PFI asset management or senior contract leadership within healthcare
  • Strong understanding of the PFI model, SPV governance and lifecycle obligations
  • A technical background (mechanical or electrical), with the ability to credibly challenge on high-risk systems
  • Experience managing large hospital estates, critical infrastructure and 24/7 operational risk
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience overseeing significant budgets and lifecycle programmes
  • Confidence engaging at executive and Director of Estates level

Why This Role

  • One of the most senior asset-focused roles on a major healthcare PFI contract
  • High-profile, long-term estate with real influence over asset strategy and performance
  • Competitive salary up to £99,000 plus benefits
  • Opportunity to operate at the intersection of technical, commercial and strategic leadership
