We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Head of Net Zero and Environment to join a leading Facilities Management Organisation working on National Contracts throughout the UK and Ireland.

• National Coverage (Hybrid working from home and site)
• £70,000 - £87,500 plus car allowance plus 15% bonus
• Facilities Management Organisation

This is a senior management position leading on the net zero carbon systems including compliance, environmental reporting and validation, environmental training development and delivery, and monitoring and reporting of non-financial indicators across the business. You will also be managing a small team of environmental managers on systems and reporting within the Responsible Business team.

Duties of the Role:

• Lead on Net Zero Carbon Strategy managing five NZ workstreams, action plans including implementation, governance, and action planning for Board reports
• Provide Exec level progress reporting against Net Zero plan (working closely with procurement and finance functions)
• Lead in the creation of fully costed business cases for carbon reduction initiatives, energy, travel, circular economy/ zero waste, water, biodiversity
• Lead Net Zero Carbon governance and action planning
• Work alongside finance for Net Zero Carbon financial reporting and budget requirements
• Develop environmental strategies on material topics including energy and fuel, travel, circular economy/ zero waste, water, biodiversity etc
• Manage mandatory carbon disclosure reports including PPN06 Carbon Reduction Plan SECR, ESOS, TCFD
• Responsible for the management of external audits in relation to ongoing ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in management and implementation of net zero carbon strategies, including engagement with senior business stakeholders to implement net zero carbon strategy
• Experience Managing an Environmental team in a similar capacity
• Experience of liaison with relevant external certification bodies
• Good knowledge of current energy, carbon, and environmental legislation including requirements related to non-financial reporting (SECR, TCFD)
• Extensive experience in operational carbon footprinting, preferably in Facilities Management, construction and energy sector
• Exceptional collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, and experience in working across all levels of an organisation
• Experience of robust environmental reporting and validation with proven ability to analyse, interpret and present environmental data at appropriate levels for different stakeholder groups
