Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Newcastle

Salary £47k - £53K depending on experience

Our client is looking for a senior electrical maintenance engineer who has experience of managing teams and overseeing the electrical teams working on maintenance contracts.

The Role


  • To be responsible for implementation of efficient and safe operation and maintenance across the estate.
  • Attend/chair meetings; liaise with colleagues re operational issues
  • To participate in the out of hours "on-call" emergency service
  • To Provide and receive complex communications from various sources, including colleagues, specialist advisors, contractors, suppliers and other external organisations on various estates related issues
  • To communicate technical information to non-technical staff, some of which may be complex
  • Ability to negotiate with contractors, suppliers for the provision of goods and services
  • Experience in negotiating change management issues with staff side representatives
  • Ensure management support and advice is provided to the engineering staff through the appraisal system.
  • To ensure that the engineering staff are adequately trained and that review mechanisms are in place for keeping training of staff up to date and current.

Qualifications and Experience


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Extensive post qualification experience/specialist knowledge of building structures/engineering services to Masters Level
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Electrical engineering services background
  • Significant senior management experience gained in an educational or healthcare environment
  • Hold a full UK driving license
