Health & Safety Officer

Edinburgh

Salary up to £50k

Our client is looking for an experience Health & Safety Officer to join their team in Edinburgh.

The Role


  • To develop and maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Implementation - develop and maintain a Health and Safety Action Plan to ensure full implementation of responsibilities and procedures.
  • Auditing and compliance monitoring
  • Training
  • Incident investigation
  • Health and safety administration
  • Voluntary Services
  • Information Governance
  • Risk Management

 

Experience & Qualifications


  • Degree level or equivalent professional qualification
  • Relevant Health and Safety qualification (CMIOSH Chartered Member or equivalent)
  • Significant recent experience in a similar Health and Safety Role involving H&S management system development, implementation and auditing.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Detailed knowledge or health and safety legislation and the experience of translating knowledge into practical solutions.
  • Experience of working in a Healthcare environment (desirable)
  • Be competent in the Microsoft Office suite and be PC literate.
  • Able to demonstrate analysis and deduction skills in accident and incident investigation.
  • Able to manage Health and Safety data both physically and electronically to provide meaningful management information.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonnel skills, being able to influence and develop colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure that safe systems of work are being maintained.
  • Evidence of highly developed planning and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge and experience within the area of Sustainability and Environmental legislation would be desirable.
