Quantity Surveyor
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Facilities Management organisation in the North West, Manchester
Summary:

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for managing all budgets relating to variations and life-cycle projects from 200k to 1million from the initial calculations to the final figures, in order to minimise costs and enhance value for money, while ensuring the required standards and quality are maintained.
The Quantity Surveyor will have an awareness of the commercial market with the ability to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients and subcontractors
Duties:
- Working with the Senior Project Manager (SPM) in the commercial processes to ensure achievement of turnover and profit targets , profitable contracts and sound cash flow performance.
- Oversee life-cycle budget
- Provide effective commercial and contractual support to operations on a number of major projects
- Assist in establishing clients' requirements and the undertaking of feasibility studies.
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Eliminate commercial risks in tenders during contract negotiations.
- Liaise with clients' surveyors on financial matters
- Maintain sub-contractor accounts and advising the project team with up to date financial information.
- Provide assistance and advice to the commercial team on all contractual, financial and commercial activities on specified projects.
- Ensure timely submission and agreement of applications, cost plans, variation details, claims and other documentation.
- Liaise with clients on the production and agreement of account details and securing final payment without undue penalty.
- Sub-contractor control ensuring close administration of accounts and meet targets for managing all significant debtors.
- Costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
- Review the sales ledger ensure accurate posting of the transactions.
- Perform risk and value management and cost control.
- Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.
- Prepare and monitor project cash flow forecasts.
- Manage and produce accurate formal reports in accordance with business timetable.
- Monitor all commercial information in relation to project including labour, material and sub-contractor cost forecasting
- Maintain sub-contractor accounts and advising the project team with up to date financial information.
- Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested by your line manager
Qualifications/Requirements
Essential
- Educated to HND or Degree level in quantity surveying or building surveying or a construction-related subject
- Commercial experience.
- Sound Quantity Surveying experience within Facilities management, consultancy or construction industry
- Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales.
- Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- IT Literacy and ability to use Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to demonstrate successful relationship building between company, clients and subcontractors .
- Sound understanding of the implications of Health and Safety regulations.
Desirable but not essential
- Previous experience of working in a facilities management environment.
- Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) qualification
